Wednesday Interview: Simone from Chocolate covered daydreams.

We are welcoming Simone from Chocolate Covered daydreames
:
good Morning Simone, How are you?
I'm doing pretty good. I've had my two cups of coffee, well, actually 1 1/2 and I'm ready to start the day!
Please have a seat, can I get you something to drink?
Thank you but Girl, once I've had my two cups of coffee, everything here on out is either Coke Zero or water. So, I have a glass of water.
There you go..
So sweet, thank you!

Welcome, everyone we are interviewing Simone from Chocolate covered Dreams..

you do a wonderful blog on Thursdays called "things that I have learned" Where did you come up with the idea, and why don't your synchronize with other blogs, such as wordless Wednesday
, etc? I'd steal it er join you in it?
Things I Learned Thursdays are just my way of collecting all of my silly, stupid, off the wall thoughts on that particular day. If you could see inside of my head, the thoughts are on turbo all the time. I decided to share those thoughts in this way. As for synchronizing, umm, I'm a bit new to the blog thing still and wouldn't know where to start as far as synchronizing.

Tell us your favorite thing about Baby Boo.
Baby Boo is definitely one of the greatest joys of my life (notice I said, one because I have many). The thing that I adore about her is that she allows the silly side of me to come out. I can sing So Yummy, So Yummy and dance around the room singing, "We're going to Kentucky" and she laughs and says, "Again, Momo." She is this lowkeyed kid until I walk in the door and she is jumping up and down and saying, "Yaaaay, Momo!"
She reminds me to put aside stress and have some fun for awhile.
On the flip side, I'm counting down to when she is officially potty trained. I think we'll go out and celebrate!

I have only read your blog for the last 6 months, you have gone through some very heavy (so it dates me) difficult times. You have graciously shared them with your readers. Did it help?
Hahaha well, it helped me but some others didn't feel that it helped them. You see, I'm an honest person. In fact, that could be one of my greatest strengths or weakness, depending on how you look at it. When I found out that my ex had been cheating on me and my marriage of 21 years was over, I was devastated. I cried inwardly and only outwardly in the shower or when I was supposed to be asleep instead. It took me a long, long time to find my creativity and ability to sing and laugh and smile again. It was like a part of me was so wrapped into the marriage that I felt as if I couldn't breathe properly. Slowly, I began to feel the healing taking place. I found my strength in writing down my feelings and praying, lots and lots of times. I think I cried 10 billion tears or more and on certain days, I still cry but most of the time, they are tears of happiness. By blogging about my life, it's given my emotions a voice and an opportunity to help others say, "Oh yeah, I felt that or I'm feeling that too."
I mean did you get a lot of read support?
Support came first from my daughters and my twin sister, before I even began blogging. I tell you, my daughters have been a lifeline to me. I really don't know how I would've made it through if I didn't have them to lift me up, and pull me out of the self pity. TV Boo (works at an ABC newstation and thus, the nickname) would turn on the stereo loud and say, "C'mon Mommy! Let's have a dance party!" I'd just move, no matter how awful I looked, we'd laugh and bounce and jump and roll and just have a ball. My Married Boo would call me and cry along with me and then laugh when I'd say something funny. I think they are the only ones that reallly laugh at my jokes! My twin sister, has been my rock. I can't imagine life without my twin and buddy.
Why did you start blogging?
I'm a writer so writing for me is like breathing. I write in my head when there's no paper around. So, naturally, blogging was just a cool way to put it all down. As for followers, I'm not one to go nuts over how many followers I have. If I only had a few, I'd be just as content because I'm just being me and if being me is interesting enough for others to read, then that's great! My twin sister and I have written a children's book that we're anticipating publication for and the blog will also be a way to introduce the book and the characters.
Have you made a lot of blog friends?
Yes I have. I've had the privilege of meeting one of my friends face to face. You know, I have a hard time calling the friends that I make, blog pallies. To me, they are friends, plain and simple, there's no distinction. Sandi and I clicked immediately. She and i get together at least once a month and just chill out. It's been wonderful getting to know here, among so many others - you included.
How do you like California?
California is what it is. I have lived here all of my life and I don't know what I'd do living in another state. At this point though, with the California budget not being approved or balanced, it's a bit frightening. I'm thinking I may need to write a letter to Arnold and ask him if he needs my help.
If you could go anywhere and do anything on this earth what and where would you go?
There are three places I'd love to go. I'd love to go on an African Safari and to Alaska (preferably on a cruise). The only thing about the Alaskan trip is I'd have to bring along an extra piece of luggage to "smuggle" I mean, borrow a few some King Crab legs. hahaha That's one of my most favorite meals of all. I'd also like to go to Korea. I have a friend who is Korean and she's taught me about the culture but I'd love to see it for myself.
Can tell tell everyone what Oct 25 means to you?
If you could see me right now, you'd see me cheesing it up. My wedding date is set for October 25th. It's going to be a very small wedding but Boo and I will be saying our "I do's". Boo and I live in the desert so the weather here will be nice for an outdoor wedding. There's a beautiful spot with a gazebo and waterfalls that we're hoping to secure that for the ceremony. I'm so excited because my first marriage I eloped so having a ceremonyand reception will be so much fun!

Really good interview... I can feel the energy and entrusiam jumping out of my laptop.

It's really good to not only read, but follow the blog and life journeys of very positive older women. I hope that I will continue to learn from this.
