This Sunday is the day we honor fathers for their commitment to family, for love of their kids and commitment to the mothers of their children. Fathers Day. I never knew my father very well. I lived with my Grandmother, strangely enough HIS mother. I still did not see him terribly often. Every few years he would come riding into town, promising he was going to stay, always with a new "mommy" for me.When I was young, this was exciting, as I grew, I began to understood what was happening.
My father was a roamer. He could not stay in one place. When I grew up I went from angry to angrier.
Why did he not care about me? Why did he not want to be with me?
My mother had abandoned me summarily. It was not until I was 17 I even met her.
At least my dad came by once every few years. Still, I am not sure what was worse the hit and run visits or just never knowing where my mom was.
I am grown up and looking back I realized some things.
The most notable was my father gave all he could. He had serious issues of his own life to work through, and handling the issues in my life then he could handle.
I wish I had realized it before he died.
Everyperson who enters you life leaves an impression on it. Of course, my father then, but more then that, he left me a resolve. Never to abandon anyone I love and to understand other frailties.
I know now so..Happy Fathers Day, Dad I forgive you.
There weren't many things both my Dad and I enjoyed. together.but I can think of Six
1. When he was around he used to like to take me out to eat. I never got to because my grandmother couldn't afford it. I still like to eat out..but more important it was the only time I was ever alone with him and felt special.
2. Reading. He loved to Read. I do as well.
3. Sports
4. Classical musical
5. Chicago Hot Dogs I was born there and for most of his life he lived their until moving to Detroit. There still isn't a dog to cover the Chicago Hot dog.
6. Travel. I want to he always did, but never stayed in a job long enough to earn the money to do much. I like to think his travels were his roaming. He saw a lot of America. Still, we used to talk about going to Europe someday. He was always going to hit it "big" and take me all over the world. That's it. We shared a dream. Even though I knew deep inside it was never to be, I hope he believed it. We all have to have hope.

A child saved
A few weeks ago a fire in a trailer claimed the lives of two children, a 4 month old an a 1 year old. I had nightmares for days. I kept thinking of these little ones crying for their mom, not understand what was going on, the terror they felt..I felt really bad for the mother, standing outside hearing this. I wouldn't have stayed out side. I would have had to perish with my kids.
In yesterdays paper I read, the children died because the mom left them alone. the police were apparently
suspicious because mom had no bruises and didn't appear to have tried to get the kids out, she, it turns out had left them alone and gone somewhere. The police wouldn't say where.
I am speechless.
Our kids are so precious, I wonder why some parents don't understand this.
I am totally against abortion. You don't have to have an unexpected pregnacy, you have birth dontrol that stops your cycle for up to a year, shots, pill, IUD's they are so many ways, not to mention things for guys so why should abortion even been necessary? Prevention is the answer if you are going to play, are you going to play football without a helmet, drive a car without a seatbelt?
Common sense goes a long way. I don't understand.
Any child has the right to be safe. We have to find someway to make sure this happens. We can't sit by and let our children die. What can we do?
Kids come into this world innocent, All they expect is the one whom they trust to love and care for them. What a betrayal to find out that one person is the one who will not care for you, but hurts you and causes you harm.
I have searched many organizations and found out there are many set up out there to help survivors of abuse, and indeed Pinwheels for prevention is one trying to stop this insane trend.
I myself am a survivor.
What I wish more then anything in the world someone had stopped it before it happened, but when I was a child parents had total control over their kids, child abuse hadn't been invented yet.
I remember, praying for help and wondering why God hated me.
I would always wish to be invisible. I lived in a world of make believe that meshed with reality where I wasn't sure which was which some days.
I hid in my room, not making a sound hoping my stepmom would forget I was there, but she didn't and anytime she was mad, I was her target
My grandmother saved me, she took me away and for a minute life was better.
But only for a minute. But she gave me the tools I needed to be survivor, and because of her
I am a child saved.
You have to be strong to get over it, and I was. On my own, and promised I would never see another child hurt. I failed. Everyday many many children suffer child abuse by the very person they expect protection from.
If you think a child is being abused, speak up. If you see suspect child abuse, get to know the child if you can. Watch carefully if you can't.
Our system does not work, Unless we help it.

Tasha's bad day.....
Tasha had a hard day yesterday. Her mom worked a double at work, meaning she was gone from 7am until well, she isn't home yet and it's 10:45 pm. So she missed her mom of course, but she just plain had a hard day.
1. She stuffed crackers in her mouth because she was in a hurry to see Dora, and ended up choking on them. As she ran down the hall to get to her TV. We had a time getting her unchoked because she was so scared, she finally (gross sorry) Threw them up. Crying. But we calmed her down and so all was well
until
2. She waited to long to go potty, and had accident. She rushed to get to the potty chair, didn't have time and had a major accident. all over her chair, the floor, and well, just everything. Again with the tars, she wa sooo pitiful! Nanny scooped her up and put her in the bathtub. There jus wasn't anything else to do. She loves taking a bath, so she stayed in there two hours until dinner had a grand old time having Barbie, Aurora, and sleeping beauty dive in the tub. then she went swimming, and all was fine. Nanny had to use towels to mop up the floor, but it was worth it.
So all was fine
until
3. Chasing the kitty up the hall she slipped and slid into my desk and computer, and the phone fell on her head. Again Tear's, of course the phone hurt! But we got through it and all was fine
until
4. I was lying on the sofa with a headache, she decided I needed her blanket to feel better so she went and got me her blanket, and the decided that I need her special pillow, she grabbed the pillow and ran yes ran straight into the door frame. Hit her head. She had a headache for a while.
She will have a bit of a knot on her forehead tomorrow. She got Ice cream for this one. after I held her for a bit feeling every inch of hr pain...the all was fine.
until
5. She was playing with the kitty, and jumped on the chair and rolled off the arm onto, her toosh.
This hurt little more then her pride, but by now I am seriously worried she is not going to survive the night. So I sit her down and watch WaWa wubzy and blues clues with her, so she cannot do any further harm to her self....
and everything is fine
until
Well not really until, she fell aslepp in the middle of Blues Clue, and we didn't even find the clue.
She had a hard day, the little one. I sit here and I feel so bad, but all of us b have bad days sometimes.
All I can hope is tomorrow is better. It will be.Mom is off.
And so it goes...

Things I learned in Life...

Do you ever feel some days like it can't get worse, then it does? So it can't get any worser, right? But it does.. again.. I had one of those weekends, as a matter of fact I think I have ha one of those lives..
.I am doing my usual stealing justnot from Carey this time, but from .my very good friend Simone over at Chocolate covered Daydreams has a segment called things I learned..I am blatantly stealing it, (well it doesn't do for one to be sneaky and besides where will that get me? She reads my blog,) So today I am doing things I learned while on the way through life:
1. June Cleaver is a fraud. What do you think of someone who wears pearls to wash the dishes? That is suspicious enough, but did you ever notice papers on the floor when ward was Reading the paper? I have papers from here to the kitchen.
2. Making plans is useless. Steinbeck said it best: The Best laid plans...There is something to be said for spontaneity.
3. No matter what happens, there is always tomorrow.
4. Speaking of tomorrow, If I don't get it done today Guess whats waiting? Yep Tomorrow.
5. There is nothing worse then losing a close friend, they are not replaceable.
6. Some things come and some things go but money problems are forever.
7. I seldom get to watch TV, but when I do it is going to be a rerun of a episode I have already seen
8. Even if I run across the store to get in the checkout line with only two people, it will be the longest wait because the second person will pay a 200 dollar grocery bill....in pennies.
9. Murphy's law is the only reality.
10. and: Reality is perception. My reality is never yours so don't even try.
11.The man you met in the grocery store who was polite, opened the door for you had a award winning smile, dressed decently..is married. the one who slurped his drink, had his shorts hanging off of him, cut in line, then had the nerve to ask for a date isn't. Guess why?
12. Life goes on. Really. It just feels like it's the end of the world Tomorrow will probably be worse.
13. Are your friends missing? Can't get them on the phone? Don't worry they are either on FB or Twitter or most likely reading someone Elses blog..just go looking...
14. Feel like it absolutely positive has to be said? It probably doesn't, if it can't wait until tomorrow you probably shouldn't say it anyway. Remember once its out there...
15. Did your kids just leave for college and the outside world? Don't worry empty nest sydrome is a rumor.. They'll be back. It's a cold world out there and there really isn't any place like home....or anyone like Mom or her laundry room...
And so it goes....

Little Girl and Tasha
Tasha has an imaginary friend. She has had her for about a year, but recently her little friend now has a mom who calls me all the time, and a sister. Her Name is Little Girl.
Little Girl is a very misbehaved young lady, and sometimes we have to send Little Girl home, but she always come right back.
Conversation Overheard between Little Girl and Natasha last night when they thought Nanny couldn't hear:
Little Girl: Bubble Bath! put more in the tub
Natasha : No that's not mine, its my moms
Little Girl: come on in the bath
Natasha: No, it's mommy's Mommy's at work.
Little girl I'm going to put some in.
Natasha: Nanny is here! No
Little Girl: Nanny, not your mom?
Natasha: Little Girl, I TOLD you my Mommy's at work. Nanny's here.
Little Girl: Oh. Nanny will make me go home she's mean. Lets play with the princesses
I guess Nanny already has a rep, and since Little girl sounds just like Natasha I don't know which one I have the rep with. I just know that that I have one. Is that good or bad?
A little while later I heard a minor crash in the bedroom, I was in my room Tasha in heir's and she came in bringing me her phone.
Nanny call Little Girls mom, it's time for her to go home.
"I thought she was spending the night"
"No", replied Tasha "She needs to go home."
So I called little girls mom and just like that (snapping fingers) she went home.
I forgot to ask Tasha, I always do, Where does little Girl live and has Tasha been to her house?

Waking up - Random Friday
Yesterday, Thursday I was awaken by the piter patter of little footsteps running down the hall, I turned over faced the wall and hoped they would continue, but they didn't. They, as usual made sharp left and dashed into my room at top speed, upon entering made a beeline for my bed and I found myself being summarily attacked by a three yard old and her sippy cup.
My mornings often start this way, but sometimes they start with a call from the other room, wanting me to get up and come climb into bed with her.
Either way, I lose. Or do I?
Somehow, I think, should I go back to an old fashioned cell phone waking me up it would be quite dull.
Life is made up of a series of events that make our days, weeks, years, what they are.
I am thinking of the changes in my life by the early morning ritual of waking up.
Years ago,I was awaken by two girls giggling in their room, and a young man who got them up and helped them make their own breakfast. I could hear them fussing, and Sharon's every day no every hour plaintive voice, "Eric, No" for whatever reason. It started at breakfast and went on all day. Eric, no don't touch this, Don't look at me, leave that alone, Mom Eric is bugging me.
Sibling rivalry? In my house it was Eric and Sharon rivalry.
Years after that, they got up made breakfast and didn't need me at all. Got their school books stat at the dining room table waiting for me to start school.
Still for a minute heard the Eric, Nos until during this period they were silenced forever.
Then I turned around, and I was alone. They were in colleges or their own apartments,
and I found myself in a 2500 5 bedroom house alone.
So, the alarm clock tried to wake me, but mostly I awaken myself. Breakfast was yogurt if anything, then off to work I went. Fed my Golden retriever "Beau" This is my independent period.
A few years after the house was too big I found myself in a townhouse, and with a cellphone.
The shrill of the cell phone was different from the alarm clock, I still beat it with my inner clock.
My daughter lived up the rode with her new husband, my ex lived across the street and my son was in Charleston with the person who was to become his wife in a few years. Another era begins.
The cell phone remains the means of waking up until two years ago and I moved to Florida,
Then a 18 month old had to check on me each morning to make sure I was still there. Most morning I was up before she was, and went to work, but the mornings I was there she knew and had to make sure I was awake.
so now, the 18 month old is three and still makes sure she is the one to wake Nanny up.
We have a deal, her and I, she can't get up until the sun is up. Thats a hard deal to keep, she has so much life in her.
But I am awaken by the sound of children or child again.
It would seem I have gone in a circle, here I am once again with a child being the focus of the house. There are not three but most days, their might a well be she has the energy of all three of my kids who were mellow.
The cycle of our lives are steady, and I think the world goes in the same cycle. Denise and I were shopping at the good will today and I pulled out a skirt I would swear, (except I don't) was the same skirt I brought back in 1989, same color, same style. I know I have heard before the clothes they wore in the 20's was the same clothes they wore in the 60's. So maybe the cycle does continue.
Hope not though, that skirt was ugly in 1989 and it was still ugly in 2009. Some parts of the cycle can't change.
But some can', because children will always be here and the joy of waking up to a child excitement at facing another day is priceless. What is mundane to us, is still fresh and exciting to us and that is what makes the cycle worth it.
So no I don't lose, the cycle just becomes richer as I wake up in the morning to the sound of new life, time enough for my cell phone to wake me up again.

Being Mary, Not Martha
I have always wanted to be Mary. But unfortunately I have a Martha personality. I like to get things done, and done quickly. I try to be efficient, organized in most things. Remember Mary and Martha? Mary sat at Jesus' feet and worshiped Him. Martha was to busy with other things, Taking control of the situation to see Jesus.
I have decided it is harder to be Mary then Martha. It is hard to lay everything down at his feet and just worship, we always feel we must be doing something. At least I do.
Being in control is a human thing, we all like to think we are on top of things, but even when we are, we aren't.
We are told that God is in control,we say but do we do it. I don't.
I try to make my life the way I want it, all the time praying to God to do HIS will, while trying to do mine.
OOPS.
God is wonderful, when we do His will life is so in control and peaceful. the Storm passes. His Grace really is sufficient.
My granddaughter Tasha, is active happy and loves life. She so wants to do whatever her mommy and Nanny do. If she sees us working the DVD player, you know in 30 seconds there she is. She likes to sit at the computer and pretend to be typing. I asked her one day what she was doing at the computer, she looked at me matter of factly and said. "Checking my email, Nanny," as if I should have known.
Her one complaint in life is having to do what we tell her to do. At three, she is rebellious. She wants to be in control. It is a hard lesson for her to learn, that Mommy is in control of her life right now. A very hard lesson. She is an independent three year old.

We laugh at her being so headstrong, but we know that in order for her to be safe, we have to be sure she understands who is in control. Natasha has to learn to be Mary, not Martha.
And so do we. We have to learn to be servers of God, not to take the control from Him. We have to learn to worship him, alone not always ask for our needs.
We live in a Martha world. Always doing. But isn't Mary's world so much better? Spending time with Jesus alone and in quiet. Worshiping him according to His wishes. Loving him as He directs.
And no matter what faith you are, this is a prerequisite in all faiths. To love God.
So today, no matter what you do, do it for His glory, do it with the peace of knowing tht God is in control. really He is.

Simple Saturday
posthumous pointer
To laugh often and love much; to win the respect of intelligent persons and the affection of children; to earn the approbation of honest citizens and endure the betrayal of false friends; to appreciate beauty; to find the best in others; to give of one's self; to leave the world a bit better, whether by a healthy child, a garden patch or a redeemed social condition; to have played and laughed with enthusiasm and sung with exultation; to know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived - this is to have succeeded. - Emerson
If a tree falls in the forest and there is no one around to hear it does it make a sound?
I have a friend, who just happens to be my daughters best friend since Jr high. Her mother was my best friend, and heroine. She still is, we don't talk nearly as much anymore. she is(the daughter) the one who got me started in blogging, and now that I am thoroughly hooked so much so I am learning to build a website and about to start yet another blog I don't know if I should thank her, fly to Virginia to give her a steak and bottle of wine, or just smack her on my way to the hospital for compulsive and disturbed people.
there is a recovery from drugs so there must be one from twittering and blogging.
I never do anything halfway, once hooked totally hooked.
Anyway, my friend does something called on her blog, called Random Fridays where she just sums of her week, or discusses different things she has been thinking about and doing.
Since then I researched several Blogs and see, some people do wordless Wednesday, or Scuttle but Thursday, mundane Monday so starting today I am doing:Simple Saturday
Update on Yogurt addiction:
Its still there. My daughter is actually enjoying it because every time she walks by me she shows her concern by asking me if I have had a yogurt, or her famous How many yogurts are in the fridge? And my all time favorite: She sent an email to everyone on her email list, called her dad and brother and told her Internet boyfriend. So much for family secrets. If you can't trust your kids, who can you trust? the real issues is of all things for Natasha to inherit, my yogurt addiction should not have been one of them. Friday morning she ate a yogurt sort of, let me just say when she brought me the container I looked at her, picked her up and just put her in the bathtub. Nothing else to do. But the addiction continues, even having Nanny comb yogurt out of her hair didn't discourage, every time Nanny has one, Tasha has to share. Their are worse addictions, I can't think of right now..unless of course you want to consider the Coke addict thing, but thats another blog.
Work:
It was interesting having to skedaddle on Wednesday night to lose my time when on Thursday I had to stay until 3am to do my schedules and help another manager do his. so I left the week with more overtime. Sad isn't it? The yogurt thing never would have occurred if he had just left me on my forklift. Can I bill Wal Mart?

A few years ago shortly after 9/11( well not shortly it was the third anniversary) I was wanting to do something for the firemen of or town so I cooked a big pot of Chili, made cornbread and a salad and took it to my nearest firehouse with a thank you card for all they do. The captain of the firehouse was kind enough to take my address so he could return my crock pot. A few days later, he showed up at my door with pizza, and invited me to go to the park with him to share it. Since I didn't know him he wasn't going to expect me to invite him in. I did anyway, after all he was a fireman right? Turned out he was not only a fireman but the nicest guy I have met before or since. So started a wonderful romance and relationship, which I ended because my daughter moved back home.
I have been thinking, the last few days of maybe going out and getting back into the game.
My daughter has met someone online she likes, but then again the entire male population of
Charleston seems to fall in love with her and gives her their phone number. A fellow blogger who has turned out to be quite an inspiration to me, mentioned she was making a list of things to blog about, I, being the thief I am, stole her idea and added to my list "pick up lines you hear at Denny's" to come in the future. Along with being single and over 45. I think I will do that one on Blog her...
The sum of all fears:
Which is a Tom Clancy book and very good book and movie BTW. To sum it all up, the Emerson quote was one I memorized in high school and tried to emphasis to all of my students when I taught English. I found it on a random blog and remembered it. I think if anyone can live that kind of a life then their life has been fulfilled.
My goal in life has always been to make a difference. Losing a child, my special interest has always been children. I belong to the several Child abuse societies, and volunteer whenever I can. I was CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate) My biggest fear is I won't make a difference in this life to anyone else. That to me would be sad.
If a tree falls...I haven't the slightest idea. It was the intellectual question of the 80's. Dates me.
Natasha has watched three Barney's on the DVR, and has now dumped yogurt in her secret drawer where she keeps her treasures. I mus go clean tht up, I promise you my yogurt addiction is waning. This round of yogurt has been most annoying.

In Memory of....A hard one to write
It's dreary and rainy in Charleston today. The temps according to my trusty Weather Bug (which keeps chirping at me) is an annoying 66 degrees. That of course means thunderstorms later this afternoon, making The day a little less dreary. Face it, scary as they are, there is nothing dreary about a thunderstorm.

Luckily Natasha has never been afraid of thunder and lightening. Tasha has never been afraid of anything. She has flown across the room, flying from bed to bed giving her mother and I symptoms of a major heart attack, also scaling stairs like they were level when she was one. In one way I am proud of her, in another I keep expecting the broken legs and arms that come with such an adventurous child. How does one keep them safe?

When my baby died, it wasn't dark and dreary. It was bright and sunny. The day had been like any other. The doctors had said she was ready to go back to Normal after her surgery.
She had fought with her brother. Whispered secrets with her sister. I re
member most, she called her best friend Stephanie and they laughed about Stephanie's first day of school, new friends they would make and to meet at church on Wednesday.
Then went into the girls bathroom to check on a tooth that was coming out, and as I walked her upstairs Promised her it would come out soon and the tooth fairy would be here.
She stopped, turned and looked at me and called me. Then fell in my arms. I knew she was gone.
I remember confusion from the other kids, calling 911. I couldn't get through, my son begging me to let him do it. "I can do it mom, really!" he kept pleading. I was too afraid he wouldn't know what to say. A guilt I still live with. The ambulance. The Hospital. Friends. The Pastor sitting there, when they told me what I already knew. My Sharon was gone.
She has been on my mind so much lately, I don't know if it is proper to blog about this sort of
thing. But I want to talk about how I felt and still do. I look at my Tasha and so desperately want to keep her safe from harm, but I can't. And I know this.
The Surgery was over, she was supposed to be better! Her life after spending 11 years of being sick was going to change. She was going to run and play with the other kids, she had never been able to before. We spent all day Sunday with her sister and her friend Stephanie shopping for Jeans for her because she was supposed to gain weight and be able to wear them now. She was 60 pounds at 11 years old. Life for her was just beginning. But it ended.
I am so Angry. Still I am angry. That this child was called home. I know God knows best. I know she is in a better place. By the way, when you are dealing with a grief stricken person NEVER say those things. they are not comforting when all you want is that person to be here in this place. We are a selfish people when it comes to our loved ones. All we can think of is, we will never hold this child, this man, this women again.
I still ache today to talk to her, to have her climb in my lap, to have her fight with her brother.
I'm the little sister she would say, I am supposed to be annoying. Eric was not amused.
I am about to lose my Tasha in a few months, although not in the same way. Her mother is returning to school and moving far away. Part of the starting over process for her was to be able to finish school and get a career.
Although I feel my heart breaking, I must let go she must do what is best.
But loss is not something easy to take. My heart still has a huge piece left out of it, one that will never be replaced until I go home.
In the year that followed Sharon's death, my mother and father died in different states from each other, one of cancer one was murdered. My brother died of a stroke and my other brothers two boys were killed in a gun fight in Rockford, Ill city of death for kids. That was not a year to relive. Still I keep coming back to keeping them safe, where I started.
I can't keep Tasha safe. I can't even keep her mom safe, although her mom is old enough to take care of herself. But the feeling we want of making sure our little ones never get hurt, never feel pain, never ever having to go anywhere with out us, How do we cope?
With God's help we cope.. Natasha has shut herself in her favorite cabinet under the sink. She is going to "work" she says. She just happens to "work" at Denny's where her mom works. She "shops" at Wal Mart where her Nanny works. All people who she trust to keep her safe.
No matter what we will do our best. God already has plans and knows the future. Sharon was "safe" walking up the stairs. My Nephew's were watching television in there living room. So supposedly they were "safe"
The world is a dangerous. It has always been. I remember scaring my grandmother as I used the porch railing for gymnastics. I remember climbing on the roof and jumping off at 10. My son, by the way did the same thing. We do our best. God must do the rest We supply the faith and prayers.
The sun is making a temporary appearance, peeking out from behind a cloud like it is playing hide and seek.
I see squirrels, which means Natasha will be running after them soon. Poor squirrels, no peace at all. She is coming out of the cabinet and heading for the back door. I hear her laughter as she sees the squirrels. She calls me, "Mom" the squirrels, the squirrels! and runs out the door. But wait. Do I just hear one child's laughter? No I think in the balmy Charleston day, with the sun going back behind a cloud, for a minute I heard more then one child's laughter. I think I heard the laughter of the many children who are now truly safe. With our Father. And mixed in with that laughter is Sharon's. Watching out for her niece, letting me know she is safe., and yes mom Now I can run and play with the other kids.
I love you Sharon, Please be happy. I will see you soon.

Parenthood revisited or accepting your kids on their terms
My son spent a good portion of his life going to a good Christian college, and being a permanent student. We thought, for a minute, he would still be in college when he was 40. I remember many days worrying about how we would pay his tuition 20 years in the future.
My daughter was the same. She has enough college credits for several AA degrees, just not enough of any for a BA degree. But unlike my son who didn't ever choose a major, She chose several. She was a writer, a teacher, a nurse, a journalist, and several others that escape my memory just now.
I remember spending many many days worrying about rather or not they would be successful in my terms. You know college degree, professionals. That kind of stuff.
My daughter tried the call center stuff, working in a office even retail none of it suited her. I realized since we moved to Charleston and she has gotten a job waitressing at Denny's that she is very happy in her job. She was a waitress for years at Golden Corral. We always thought it was a temporary position. But guess what? It wasn't.
That is hard for me to think, who can be happy as a waitress?
Well apparently she can, and she makes excellent money and most importantly she comes home feeling she has done well.
My son on the other hand, is an entrepreneur. His lively hood now, is bar tending at one of Charleston's More upscale restaurants called Reval , http://www.ravalwinebar.com/ It specializes in wine tasting, Spanish wines and other exotic drinks. Hard to accept at first, as a Christian.
But the truth is my son is a wonderful Christian, and what better place to witness? His careers have ranged from salesman, manager of a health food store, Wendy's (at 16) and quite a few more I don't remember.
The reality is they are happy and what is more important? The future I would have for them is not what they would have for themselves. Both careers are far more normal and everyday then I had planned. At 3 months of age I had my son General of the us Navy on the way to being president and my daughter of course was going to be head of a great big corporation.
My son on the side has many little Internet companies going, He always on hand to help a friend, and he continues to learn by Reading, exploring, taking classes and trying new things all the time. he has been in countless movies and commercials on the local level.
My daughter is a wonderful mother, she loves people, a good listener, a person friends turn to in need. She also reads and continues to grow in many ways.
So I didn't get what I wanted. But I got better. Because who could ask for more for their children then for them to be happy, healthy and satisfied with their lives?
I guess we all have lessons to learn as parents and one is this. What is good for us, is usually not good for them. And what a learning experience for both of us.
