Monday Morning. Today started normal. Tasha running through the house, waking up the family which is her self appointed job to do, I have the strong desire to fire her from this position, but what can you do?
Anyway, Denise was feeling rather industrious after her morning wake up call, so at 8:30 in the morning she gthered her laundry together and went outside to the laundry room. Now I should explain, that in Charleston, the laundry rooms are separate rooms outside of the house but still attached. Ours is off the patio to the left. So while Denise is busily stuffing clothes in the washing machine she hears a samll faraway mew.
Now our cat has been missing for three days, so she was a little excited about hearing the sound she thought it was our cat. So she starts seaching, The Laundry room is the cats favorite place to sleep and hang out. She moves clothes, looks under boxes checks the dryer. No Kitty. She deciides she must have been dreaming.
Steps out side the door and hears it again. She starts searching the back yard
looking uder bushes ,in the old dog house and no cat. Just when she thinks she is losing her mind....she decides to go in the house
After heading in the house, yet a third time she hears the meow again this time a tad more urgently.
So,she heads off in the direction of the the sound, which is coming from the back of the yard still no cat but she notices the dogs in the neighbor yard, who live catty corner to us, are barking uproariously at something, looking up in the tree she sees the cat. up the tree with two dogs standing guard below it.
Well, now we know where the cat has been for three days.
Denise come rushing in the house, excited I found the cat. She yells excitedly.
"Where" I ask
"Two dogs ran her up a tree"
Oh.
So, we go out and try to coax the cat down, the neighbor has an electric fence so we cannot climb the fence, I got a ladder, Denise tried to climb the tree with the ladder...ladder was too short.
The kitten has now seen us and is going wild, trying to decided if we could save her from the dogs should she jump.
Probably not a good idea.
Luckily the neighbor came out, she has a friend who had an extension ladder so she's off to call the friend to bring the ladder.
and while she is doing that......
The kitty trots down the tree on the other side right into Denises' arms.
Nothing like a cat to cause problems. Denise is happy, gleefully hugs the kitty, the kitty is shaking for minute then starts to purr......
We bring her in the house, she rushes for the kitty box. Can you imagine not going to the Bathroom for three days? THEN she eats and drinks and...........
asks to goout, yet agin..out you go.
try to stay away from dogs and trees this time.
The cat looks at me like I am nuts.
One day we need toname this cat
And so it goes....
Unless someone like you cares cares a whole awful lot, nothing will get better, no it's not!

Happy Monday..Random Thoughts..
I worked out yesterday, with Denise. I would suggest never working out with your child. You would think had learned that when I tried running with her and she left me in the dust.
I thought, surely I can keep up with her on the treadmill, but nope. She left me standing still. Her treadmill was rocking and rolling. Mine, was just rocking.
Working out, Denise and I are training for a 5K in October. I am determined to make it, but what makes me really proud is watching Denise's determination, If I don't make it I plan to be there cheering her on. She is really working hard. The Pictures of of Tasha and Tasha's mom, Denise had company over the weekend and they went to the park. You can tell, how much Denise has been working out. She looks really good.
Tasha's' cat who has been aptly names, uh I think Tasha's cat, is watching TV. This is after jumping from the chair to the computer solely for the fun of chasing the mouse on my computer, screen. It is hard to type with a cat, even a tiny kitten, sitting. in between the keyboard and the monitor, we found I won, for now. I had to move the chair across the room. it really is Tasha's cat. He has a mind of his own.
I have to get a cell phone, up until now I have resisted, but people need to get in touch with me, so getting a phone i am. I think my friend over at nice shoes, has convinced me a IPhone is best, so I am looking into those.I amtrying o decided betwen a palm and a Iphone, I'd love help.
I'd like to say hello to my lurkers. I kow you are there, you show up on my stat counter, evry once in a while I want you to know you are appreciated. I am a lurker to, so I understand you. So Howdy. And if someday you want to leave a comment thats cool to.

I am getting ready to go to bed, and it strikes me this blog is boring tonight, sorry, about the only thing happening is right about now a huge transport jet well helicopter, is fly ing over my house. I can tell by the sound it is going in for a landing, and I am happy, it is either men or equipment returning from the Gulf. When I think of each of these planes, I think of the men and women on board, how excited they must be to look out the window and see home, or if Charleston is not their home, America. At least they know, they will be safe for a minute.
But. again safety is a relative thing. 90 tourists came to America to enjoy New York, and met their fate in the Hudson. Do we ever know, when we are safe? I am going to give Tasha a hug..You find your kids, and hug them tight.
I have started a new ning group, I hope everyone will visit and joing, it is different from any of the other groups, At least I hope. The button is at the top of the page, it is called The bridge. Everyone is welcome.
Happy Monday
And so it goes....

Friday Ramblings
This weekend is the Charleston Food and Wine festival in downtown Charleston. Denise has to work, but I hope to catch the evening program and food, food,Food. Since we will have Tasha we will skip the Wine, though THAT I would love to attend. I like events like this, especially here
because Charleston adds an elegance to these things that says, Hey you are in Charleston a City of Class.
Of course I have a human side. Bobby flay will be giving a demonstration,He is one of my favorite chefs on Food Network (anyone NOT watch food network? even for a minute?) and They have a Iron Chef competition that I am looking forward to. I'd like to see if they really do these things in an hour.
Charleston sense of history, makes a exciting background for the festival. The food will be distinctly Charleston, Shrimp and Grits, She crab soup all of old Charleston's favorites. Although people from all over will be there there, the natives will have a special, We are Charleston Savor Fa ire to the whole event. I am excited.
Tasha woke up on the wrong side of the bed this morning and has been growling at me all day.
Her Banana was to hot (????) Her toast was to cold. She didn't want to watch any of hr favorite programs. I finally settled her down to read and she decided to dress up in her Pirates costume she wore for Halloween. Now she is happily playing pirate and ARRRR'ing the whole house.
We all have bad days, some are worse then others when we just feel out of sorts, this was her I suppose.
I had forgotten how diverse an age three is.
Denise is going to get a dog, a "rat" dog she calls him. When Tasha was 18 months, they had a cat. Tasha loved that cat to death. Almost literally. She wanted to love on it so much, the cat needed a therapist. She would hit the ceiling running when Tasha came into the room. Tasha just squeezed to much, and she had a habit of carry it my it's neck.
Luckily the Cat survived and so did Tasha. We bribed the cat with Tuna, and hid it in the bathroom. It was reasonably happy. After a few weeks of teaching and loving on it, she calmed down, Tasha calmed down each loved the other. Then the cat died quietly of some disease.
So, we didn't have a pet for a while. I finally broke down and brought a gold fish. Tasha loved to talk to the goldfish. She fed it. I kept the food high so she couldn't feed it too much.
Things were great until her mother decided to clean the water. She forgot you have to make sure the new water is the same temperature as the old water. The fish looked up in total surprise at the cold freezing water, and went to fish heaven. I am sure in pet heaven they are telling stories about pet survival rates in our house. So pet three is a Jack Russel Terrier. The pets in heaven are twittering again in fear.
I hear they are starting a petition.
